Description

The woodpecker is a tenacious and persistent bird, which is why the authors, Axel Smith and Hans Tikkanen, named their training method after it. After using it for seven weeks, Tikkanen achieved three Grandmaster norms, marking a significant leap in the recognition of his chess ability.

The quick explanation of the method is to solve a large number of problems consecutively; then, solve the same problems again and again, each time faster. It is not an easy shortcut to success; hard work is required. But the reward can be reprogramming your unconscious mind. Benefits include sharper tactical vision, fewer mistakes, better play under time pressure, improved intuition, and, fundamentally, pattern recognition.

This book contains everything needed to carry out your own Woodpecker training. The authors explain how to get the most out of the method. Before presenting the 1,128 problems and their solutions, all of them have been repeatedly checked for accuracy and suitability.

Furthermore, due to its success, the second part of the Woodpecker book has recently been released, which you can also find in our Chesscul store.
